When the pandemic hit, we had to pivot our wedding plans for 2020 and ended up eloping on Oak Island. There is SO much to do on Oak Island alone, you won’t ever have to leave once you arrive!
Where to Stay
I highly recommend renting a beach house! Doesn’t have to be beach front, but it makes life easier if you can walk to the beach & honestly, I just feel it helps with the whole experience!
We also stayed in an AIRBNB on one of our trips called THE SHOAL SHACK. It was SO cute! Not walking distance to the beach, but perfect for the dog and a quick trip over the bridge.
Where to Eat
Where do I start!
Koko Cabana is where we went for our post elopement dinner & we returned their on our most recent trip. It’s SO good & they have the best cocktails. Not to mention a breathtaking view of the water.
I also recommend:
Island Way
Shagger Jacks
OKI Scoop Shop (for a sweet treat)
Things to do
Spend a day at the beach
Visit the Oak Island Lighthouse
Walk the Oak Island Pier at sunset
Kayaking & Paddle boarding
Golfing (like real golf for the golf lover)
And of course, putt-putt!
Favorite Coffee Shop
Island Jo Coffee n Cafe
OKI Scoop Shop (I love the walk-up window)
