I started my own country music blog way back in 2014. I would interview up and coming artists and post on website. That helped me snag a paid gig writing for a large country music blog and ultimately drove me to sell my townhouse, pack up my cat & make the move to Nashville.
I landed my dream job as a publicist at the age of 33 by randomly reaching out to an agency to see if they were hiring. They weren’t, but agreed to meet with me anyway and when they did, they found a spot for me. I even helped lead the charge for publicity on a major motion picture!
Moral of this story is that if you want something, you can’t sit around and wait for it to happen. You have have to find a way to make it happen.
Start somewhere. Anywhere! Don’t just write down your goals. Write down the steps you’re going to take to make them happen and then take action.
Remember, dreams don’t work unless you do!
