New Book Cover Reveal!

How fitting that we're talking about this topic today because I can actually use my own personal journey that I'm on right now.

Holding on to Georgia was my second release. I absolutely adore the story of Rylan and Kade, but over the last few years, I just haven't felt as if they were getting the recognition they deserved.

Let's back track a little bit. When I first released Holding on to Georgia, I felt that the original book cover was symbolic. The swing in the photo plays a very important part in the story. The problem was, I was the only person who knew that. Without reading the story, readers wouldn't undersand.

I'm a romance writer. I write about love, loss, heartbreak and second chances. After all these years of wondering WHY does this poor book undersell the others, I decided to do some research. I surveyed some author friends and readers. They loved my books description and yes they loved the cover, BUT they did not feel the cover conveyed enough attention.

Picture this...

You're scrolling through pages of ebooks trying to find one to cozy up to. As much as I was in love with this cover, I had to agree, it wasn't page stopping. It didn't give a small hint as to walk to expect. So, I decided it was time for a change.

I spent a bit of time on Amazon looking at covers that were currently best sellers or in Amazon's top seller list. I don't like to blend in. I don't like to follow the leader. I like to go against the grain, but unfortunately for Holding on to Georgia, against the grain didn't do justice for it's story. So, after getting an idea of what covers looked like these days, I decided to try my hand at a new one. I have to be honest, I'm not disappointed.

I think this cover conveys what I want readers to see. It shows a relationship, but it also shows struggle, the fight to hold on and it's even slightly mysterious which for sure goes along with some of the story line. So, without further ado I present to you, the new cover of Holding on to Georgia!

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the old cover and the new. Have you ever changed up your cover? If so, why? Can't wait to hear from you!
