Since my summer country spotlight artist series has come to an end, I thought it would be fun to share my latest concert going adventures with you for the fall! We have a lot of awesome artists coming to the Charlotte area and my calendar is getting pretty full. This weekend is David Nail, Sam Hunt and Charlie Worsham, which I’ll be sure to post about next week! I’m a little behind so I’m gonna do a 2 day post to share what my last couple of weeks have been like!
My friend Alison and I went to see Brett up at Ziggy’s in Winston-Salem. It’s was on a Thursday night, so Friday was a bit rough since we didn’t get home until well after midnight, but it was well worth the lack of sleep. We both had a meet n greet with Brett, which was much different than others I’ve done in the past. Usually they snap a pic and you’re out of there before you remember to blink. This one was much more relaxed. We were able to talk to him a bit and he was very down to earth and appreciative of those who were there.
I’ve followed Brett on instagram for quite some time now and I love his personality, so I wasn’t surprised at all when it showed on stage. He was fun, energetic and seriously talented. Sounded just like he does on the radio. I’ve been a fan ever since I heard Raymond, so of course I sang along as loud as I could do that one. Everyone sang along to “Don’t ya” and “Beat of the Music” and the cell phone lights came out swaying to “Mean to Me”.
My personal favorites of the night were “One Mississippi” (which is by far my favorite song of his. I’ve never heard a song sang with such passion in my life), “Bring You Back” and one that is yet to be release called “Just a Taste.” I haven’t heard it before, but I’m already ready for radio airplay here Brett. How long are you gonna make me wait?
If you haven’t seen Brett live yet, I highly recommend it. An all around genuine and talented guy who puts on a good show. Here’s a little glimpse:
Stay tuned tomorrow for a recap on Chase Rice and Old Dominion!
