Novel: Dangled Carat
Author: Hilary Grossman
I was given a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. When I first started reading Dangled Carat, I had no idea it was a memoir. With that being said, once I realized it, my first thought was “you go girl!” Why? I’ll tell you in a minute.
First off, what I really loved about reading this was that although it does center around a so-called love story, there is so much more depth to it. Throughout the novel you get to see much of Hilary’s life, the ups and downs and the people in it. You really become invested in the characters.
Now we’ll get back to my first thought. Hilary is a serious trooper. Being able to put up with her family and friends pushing her boyfriend Marc in one direction while he’s running in another. And in the end, believing in what she felt was right for her. That takes guts, courage and strength.
This story had some serious moments and some sad ones, but for the most part it was fun and bubbly. A great weeknight read after a long stressful day of work. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to all women both in a relationship and still searching!
